Sweet Beef Tapa
Sweet Beef Tapa (jerky) ingredients
3 tbsp. Canola Oil (or your choice)
1 lb tender loin thinly sliced
1/2 cup ''dark'' soy sauce
1/4 cup Granulated sugar
3 clove Minced garlic
1 large whole onion rings for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Sweet Beef Tapa (jerky)
1. I would say that this recipe was from my own palate.
2. Since I love to explore new tastes, this is one of my favorites.
3. You could say that I acquired this recipe through eating in different restaurants.
4. I tried to combine all the taste of the different places that served these ''''Beef Tapas''''.
5. We should call this recipe a ''''Recipe thru Taste''''.
6. Marinate the sliced beef in the mixture of soy sauce, sugar, garlic, salt & pepper for 30 minutes to an hour stirring half way done.
7. Separate the meat from the mixture and lay it on a sheet pan. Set aside the mixture for later use. Heat the oiled pan to 350°F and carefully drop the meat in a single layer.
8. After 3 to 5 minutes, turn the meat and fry until edges are crunchy (but not burnt).
9. NOTE: the amount of sugar will cause it to burn, so make sure that you are at a constant watch.
10. Remove the meat from the pan and arrange it nicely on a serving dish.
11. Sauté the onion rings from the same pan to absorb the flavor.
12. It should have a crunchy texture but not raw. Then add the saved mixture to the onion simmering it for 2 minutes then remove from the pan. Remove the onions from the sauce then garnish on top of the meat.
13. Serve with garlic fried rice and sunny-side up eggs.
